Nature
The Flysch or Geopark offers a great way to enjoy both the sea and the mountains.
Flysch: a natural formation created by layers of soft and hard rock. Generated by the constant assault of the ebb and flow of the sea, to form this distinctive structure of eroded layers.
- Begi bistan Zumaia-Deba-Mutriku: an excellent opportunity to sail the waters that bathe the Basque Coast Geopark. Guided tours to explore the details of the black, grey and red flysch.
Geopark: a landscape nestled between the Cantabrian Sea and the Basque mountains, covering the municipalities of Itziar, Deba, Mutriku and Zumaia. A place where the sea contrasts with the green pasture. In 2015 the Geopark was declared a UNESCO Global Geopark in recognition of its geological importance. Aside from geology, it boasts hiking trails full of cliffs, hilltops and valleys that will remain etched in your memory.
- Visit Olatz Karst: various sites can be visited within this limestone formation. Among others, the mountain known as the pyramid.
- Deba marshes: discover the local biosphere at first hand.
- Visits to Lastur: learn how a watermill works.

Sport
We offer sporting pursuits to be enjoyed both in the mountains and at sea. Activities are available for both lovers of the sea and those who are keener on the mountains.
- Surfing / canoeing in Deba: you can hire equipment to spend a day on the waves of Deba. If you have your own gear, we recommend Alkolea beach just 500 m from the hotel.
- MTB: there are various options for mountain biking routes around the area, which lies within the Debabarrena MTB Centre. Our hotel operates a bike rental service in collaboration with a shop in Deba.
- Buceoeuskadi: Spend the morning or afternoon underwater. Learn to dive for the chance to see the different creatures of the Basque Coast.
